I figured that's what you meant but I had to bust your chops a bit first. The jazz created by the Dead deserves its own genre name. Straight jazz can get boring. I like fusion. Scofield certainly doesn't bore me. Saw him play with the ABB recently. They jammed out a ridiculous half hr Elizabeth Reed unlike anything I've ever heard. Scofield was so happy just to be on stage with the brothers.

And yes I'm now confused once again. You don't like to play jazz but like listening to some more modern jazz?

I do like jazz. But like you said, it can get boring. My criticism of jazz is that there is too steady a beat. But i do love the improv that goes down, i just want MORE. I go to that jazz bar when I'm down in the city. But whenever I'm out on the town, which is pretty regular, I always try to get my friends to go with me. Also had a date or two there. Best set I've ever seen was piano, guitar, sax, bass and drums. But when I put on music, its always dead with a pinch of phish (maybe more like a crumb).
